International Science Research Olympiad
About Us

Welcome to the ISRO

Welcome to the International Science Research Olympiad (ISRO) — a pioneering platform dedicated to igniting young scientific minds and nurturing the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and researchers.

At ISRO, we believe that curiosity is the seed of discovery. Our mission is to identify and inspire students with exceptional scientific aptitude through a structured and challenging competition that spans across School, District, State, and National levels. Each stage is designed to push boundaries, test intellect, and cultivate analytical thinking — empowering students to turn knowledge into innovation.

Founded with a vision to make science learning exciting, competitive, and globally relevant, the International Science Research Olympiad brings together the brightest young minds to showcase their talent, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

We collaborate with leading schools, educators, and institutions to conduct high-quality assessments that encourage critical thinking and real-world application of scientific concepts. Beyond competition, ISRO serves as a movement — fostering scientific temper, innovation, and research culture among students at an early age.

Importance of Olympiads for Students and Schools

Olympiads are an excellent platform for developing students’ intellectual abilities, reasoning skills, and creativity. They not only provide opportunities for students to showcase their talent at national and international levels but also prepare them for future competitive examinations. Such competitions build confidence, discipline, and a scientific outlook among learners. For schools, Olympiads enhance reputation, promote quality education, and inspire teachers toward innovation. Therefore, every school should actively encourage its students to participate in Olympiads for their overall academic and intellectual growth.

Criteria of Evaluation

The evaluation of students in the International Science Research Olympiad (ISRO) will be based on a comprehensive assessment of their scientific knowledge, analytical ability, and innovative thinking. Students will be evaluated on their conceptual understanding of core principles in science and mathematics, their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical and experimental contexts, and their problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills. Emphasis will also be placed on innovation, research orientation, and creativity, encouraging students to think originally and develop new ideas. Additionally, accuracy, clarity of presentation, and effective communication of scientific concepts will form an essential part of the overall evaluation.

Guidelines for Schools

Participation of schools in the International Science Research Olympiad (ISRO) plays a vital role in nurturing students’ scientific thinking, research aptitude, and competitive spirit. It is expected that school administrations ensure smooth, transparent, and timely execution of all Olympiad-related activities.

Key Instructions for Schools :

  • Appointment of Olympiad Coordinator : Every school must nominate an Olympiad Coordinator who will serve as the key link between the school and the International Science Research Council (ISRC). The Coordinator will be responsible for managing all administrative tasks, including student registration, examination arrangements, communication, and result coordination.
  • Registration and Data Submission : Schools must ensure that all student registration details — including name, class, roll number, and contact information — are accurate and up to date. The registration data must be submitted through the official ISRO portal or authorized channels within the specified deadline. In case of any discrepancies or technical errors, schools should immediately contact the ISRO Helpdesk for support.
  • Conducting Orientation Sessions : Before the examination, schools are encouraged to organize Orientation Sessions for students. These sessions should cover the exam structure, question pattern, time management, and answer-writing techniques. Such orientations help boost students’ confidence and develop a competitive and scientific approach.
  • Display of Information (Notice Board & Communication) : All important updates related to the Olympiad — such as exam date, timing, room allocation, and roll number lists — must be clearly displayed on the school notice board. Additionally, schools may also communicate the same through SMS, email, or school mobile applications to ensure that students and parents are well informed.
  • Examination Conduct : On the day of the examination, schools must ensure a peaceful, disciplined, and secure environment at the examination centre. Invigilators should be appointed in advance, and the confidentiality of examination materials must be strictly maintained.
  • Result Declaration and Certificate Distribution : After the results are announced, schools must share the outcome with all participating students. Selected students will receive Certificates and Awards as per the guidelines prescribed by ISRO. Schools are encouraged to involve parents during the distribution of results to promote transparency and appreciation.
  • School’s Role and Cooperation : Schools are encouraged to make the Olympiad an integral part of their academic calendar. Active participation in the Olympiad enhances the institution’s reputation and fosters a spirit of innovation and research among students.
  • Adherence to Rules and Regulations : In case of any discrepancy, misconduct, or violation of rules, the decision of ISRO shall be final and binding on all participating schools.
  • Official Communication : The Olympiad Coordinator must ensure that all communications with ISRO are conducted only through official email IDs or authorized communication channels.

Instructions for Students

All participating students are required to strictly adhere to the examination rules and maintain discipline throughout the process. The Olympiad is not only a test of knowledge but also of honesty, punctuality, and responsibility. Please read and follow the instructions carefully.

General Instructions :

  • Admit Card and School ID Mandatory : Every student must carry a valid Admit Card and School Identity Card to the examination centre. Without these documents, entry to the exam hall will not be permitted.
  • Permitted Writing Materials : Use only blue or black ballpoint pens (for offline exams). The use of pencils, gel pens, or coloured pens is strictly prohibited.
  • Prohibited Items : Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, tablets, earphones, or any smart devices are strictly not allowed inside the examination hall. Possession or use of such items will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Reporting Time and Attendance : Students must report to the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the exam hall under any circumstances.
  • Question Paper and Answer Sheet Handling : After receiving the question paper, students should check all pages carefully. Fill the answer sheet neatly and systematically. At the end of the examination, both the question paper and answer sheet must be submitted to the invigilator.
  • Discipline and Conduct : Any form of cheating, communication, or misconduct during the exam will result in immediate disqualification. Students are expected to maintain silence, respect, and discipline throughout the examination.
  • Dress Code (if applicable) : Students must appear for the examination in school uniform or decent formal attire.
  • After the Examination : After completing the test, students should leave the examination hall quietly. Results will be announced on the official website or displayed on the school notice board on the scheduled date.
